Welcome to the November NCC meeting of 2022: Newtongrange Community Council consider the main aims, objectives and correspondence this month. Our postponed AGM will be held in person on Tuesday 31st of January 7-8pm @ Dean Tavern, The Lamp Room & remotely via Zoom.
The October NCC hybrid meeting @ The Dean Tavern, The Lamp Room & on zoom captured community concerns and on-going issues. In person police report and discussion with Sgt. Michele Lindsay. Membership, park improvements including petanque and tennis discussed. Councillor reports were offered and further updates given by our Midlothian South, ward councillors.

Calling all scrubbers and strippers!

Newtongrange Welfare Park will be 100 years old in September this year. In preparation of the celebrations, Newtongrange Community Council has agreed to coordinate the scrubbing, stripping and repainting of the park railings.
There is around 600m of railings and this is a major task, so we need your help.
Volunteers will be gathering at Newtongrange Welfare Park on Saturday 7th March at 9:30am to begin work.
All are welcome to come and help. Paint and equipment will be supplied, you just need to bring a little elbow grease!
On another note, donations of some paint, equipment and protective clothing have already been received (thank you!) but much more is required.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of local businesses & personal endeavors of our Treasurer we look to have the equipment required. NOW FOR THE VOLUNTEERS. Call the courts office and get the convictions on community service on the job there's your free labour right there,if no find someone else
I can do it, tempted to start earlier than that
Those railings need to be proserved.. They are Victorian....hopefully and I hope folks can do this. We need to keep these parts of Nitten whole.
