ScotRail is introducing new ways for customers to save when they travel by rail during peak times.
From Saturday, 28 September, regular peak-time travellers will benefit from more savings with season tickets and Flexipasses – providing great value for money.
ScotRail is reminding customers that the Scottish Government’s Off-Peak all-day fares trial ends on Friday, 27 September. This means that peak-time travel restrictions will resume from Monday, 30 September.
The introduction of an additional 20 per cent discount on season tickets for the next twelve months could be the perfect option for those who commute on a daily basis.
Available on weekly, monthly, and annual season tickets, the extra discount will mean customers will save more than 40 per cent on their daily commute compared to five or twenty Anytime Day Return tickets.
ScotRail’s Flexipass tickets will provide twelve journeys instead of ten, for the same price, giving customers an additional saving on an already discounted ticket.
With the additional two journeys now included, customers will save 32 per cent on six Anytime Day Return tickets.
Flexipass journeys can be used over a 60-day period, which is a great option for hybrid workers or those who travel regularly on the same route.
Taking advantage of these new savings couldn’t be easier with mTickets on the ScotRail app.
Buying a season ticket or Flexipass on mTicket means people only need to buy one ticket for multiple journeys. Customers can secure their tickets from the comfort of their home, or on the way to the station, and it will instantly become available on their mobile device, which also reduces their need to queue at the station.
Super Off-Peak Day Return tickets will also return from 30 September. Available on selected routes, these tickets are ideal for those travelling at the quietest times of the day and offer great value.
More information on the new ways to save, including examples of the available savings, is available here.
