Welcome to the November NCC meeting of 2022: Newtongrange Community Council consider the main aims, objectives and correspondence this month. Our postponed AGM will be held in person on Tuesday 31st of January 7-8pm @ Dean Tavern, The Lamp Room & remotely via Zoom.
The October NCC hybrid meeting @ The Dean Tavern, The Lamp Room & on zoom captured community concerns and on-going issues. In person police report and discussion with Sgt. Michele Lindsay. Membership, park improvements including petanque and tennis discussed. Councillor reports were offered and further updates given by our Midlothian South, ward councillors.

Newtongrange Welfare Park was well and truly celebrated yesterday. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did?
Whether you traveled from Ohio, like Jackie & family or simply St David's your attendance was most appreciated.
NCC wish to thank all the staff from Midlothian Council who made it possible from first putting up the bunting, tree planting, laying the track to erecting the stage, marquees, market stalls and hosted our regular meetings. The Lord Lieutenant and school children and staff that helped with the tree planting cermony.
Our three ward Councillors who attended and nominated the centenary event for funding. Our MC Eric Davidson who perfectly reflected the momentous occasion with his wonderful poem and Mark Falconer for his photography.
Big thanks to the performers Midlothian Community Concert Band, RAF Air Cadets, Be Happy Performing Arts, Gorebridge Community Choir and Alan Fernie and the Newtongrange Silver bands.
Thanks to Flora, Shauni and the Gala Queen for presenting the gardening competition prizes.
Kenny and Bobby for putting on the shows and providing the burger van. Marcelo for the ice creams, Alex for the coffees and teas.
The Black Diamond team who went over and above to keep us entertained. All the wonderfully stall holders who were patient with us and braved all kind of elements to highlight their various offers.
The First aiders and Eskbank Rotary Club volunteers provided great support. NC1 for their centenary gifts and constant support. Lorna and Connor from Newtongrange Gala Day who advised from first meeting to last vehicle in the park.
Last not least our thanks must go to our Welfare Park that may have seen it all but was a truly wonderful host,

Coming to the Newtongrange Welfare park by car today?
Might be an idea getting the Lothian 29 or 48 bus or the Borders x95.
The car park in Welfare Park at the tennis courts is closed for the event.
The best place to park will be the library car park on St David’s EH22 4LG
The Leisure Centre car park on Dean Park Place EH22 4 LT
Further afield the train station car park & Newbattle Learning Centre on Gardiners Place.
