For the February meeting we were joined by both Councillor Johnstone & Muirhead to discuss Newbattle Practice e-consult, Welfare Park, tubs, crime prevention, buses, newsletter plans and noticeboards the topics.
For the first meeting of the year we had a room swelling over twenty people withe the litter pick, park, parking, buses, newsletter plans and information from the Newtongrange Masterplan steering group discussed.

The AGM was an opportunity to reflect on the changes to the Newtongrange Community Council and prepare for an increasing membership as more in the community want to support the village’s development.
Following the AGM, and agreement on the NCC objectives being fit for purpose, a condensed meeting raised actions about the formation of the Newtongrange Masterplan steering group, double roundabout repainting, reduced bus services, park seating.

Ahead of Remembrance Sunday, attandance at this meeting was a clear indicator of community frustration about the state of our public spaces and willingness to contribute to village development. Cllr Jim Muirhead was in attendance to hear it first hand.
Attendance expected from Gareth Davies with an update on Masterplan and responses expected on library hours, weeds and flowerbed upkeep
Returning from summer break, the NCC spent ninety minutes with Christine Grahame MSP getting feedback on transport issues and how to get the most out of our embattled council.
