Bird keepers are reminded of new UK-wide legislation coming into effect which will require all keepers of outdoor birds to register them on the Scottish Kept Birds Register (SKBR) by 1 December 2024.
This legislation will apply to even a single bird. Currently, only those who keep 50 or more birds must register their birds and location.
The new requirements are aimed at better protecting keepers, their birds, and the general public from notifiable avian diseases
