THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL (SEVENTH STREET, NEWTONGRANGE) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

The Midlothian Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf hereby make the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as “The Midlothian Council (Seventh Street, Newtongrange) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026”. The Order has effect on 6 October 2026 and shall remain in force up to and including 15 October 2026.
2. This Order is being made to facilitate Clancy undertaking works on behalf of Scottish Water. Save as provided in Article 3 of this Order, Seventh Street will be closed to through traffic from the gable end of property number 38 to the gable end of property number 46.
3. Nothing in Article 2 of this Order shall prevent any person from driving or causing or permitting any vehicle to be driven on the part of the roads specified in this Order (a) if the vehicle is in actual use in connection with the works there or (b) is being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance services in connection with an emergency.
4. There will be a local diversion in place for general vehicular traffic via Eighth Street and Park Road.
