Last month saw launch of The Newtongrange Flyer. The NCC has supported, coordinated and funded a number of resilience activities during the CoViD-19 pandemic and the first issue of the new newsletter, although originally designed...
The March meeting focussed on the roles of new members of the NCC, upcoming Midlothian Council consultations and funding opportunities and launching of the new NCC website.
A microgrant request to support a newsletter campaign to support the NCC’s goals of inclusivity, representation and engagement.
Reminder drop-in event @ Newtongrange Library on this Thursday 25th of May, 1-7pmDo you have views on where development and regeneration should or should not take place in Midlothian? Then come along to drop-in events in May and June to tell us what you think and find out more about the Midlothian Local Development Plan (MLDP2).
You’ll also get the chance to talk about open spaces and play opportunities in their area.
The next ones are on:
• Tuesday 23 May - 1pm to 7pm at Lasswade Library, The Lasswade Centre, 19 Eskdale Drive, Bonnyrigg, EH19 2LA
• Thursday 25 May - 1pm to 7pm at Newtongrange Library, St David’s, Newtongrange, EH22 4LG
• Thursday 1 June - 1pm to 7pm at Penicuik Library, Carlops Road, Penicuik, EH26 9EP

Here’s Mary, she’s a regular at the Reminiscence Group on Fridays at Loanhead Library and was really looking forward to Neil Fraser from Historic Environment Scotland talking about fashion through the ages. Mary says she “comes with the girls” and loves the chat about things like what they all used to wear and life in Loanhead. Asked if there were any particular outfits of hers she remembers, Mary says: “I love a nice pair of jeans, a nice white T-shirt and a turquoise cardi.”

Newtongrange Guerrilla Gardeners Whats-On In-NewtongrangeCould you help us? We're looking for volunteers, spring-summer, to help us get the outside areas at the Museum looking great! This would include things like helping to paint the red wheels/gate, planting some bulbs and helping tidy the gardens 😁
