We were delighted to be joined by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Midlothian, members of Newtongrange Village Voices and all the pupils from Newtongrange Primary School.
The countdown to the centenary event on Saturday 19th September is now officially on!

100 years ago, Newtongrange Welfare Park was officially opened.
To mark this centenary, an oak tree will be planted today to create a lasting marker for future generations.
This tree is intended to be a living reminder of the park’s first 100 years and of the community’s responsibility to care for it into the next 100.
Please come along to the park today from 11am when we’ll be joined by some very special guests.
