There was no Remembrance Sunday Service held in the village this year, but a few community groups met at the War Memorial on Sunday 8th November and held a two minute silence before laying their poppy wreaths.
On Armistice Day, Wednesday 11th November, the Reverend Gayle Taylor conducted a short service at the War Memorial and several representatives from community groups attended. During the two minute silence, people remembered those who had served our country. Poppy wreaths were then laid in memory of our brave servicemen.
Scotland’s largest school-based cheer team, based in Midlothian, is celebrating success with a new appeal for sponsors to help make dance accessible to all.

This is a fun family event with a short, guided walk which includes a geology rock doctor session and an ecology treasure hunt (max 45 minutes) followed by a free art workshop which will use some plants collected as part of the ecology treasure hunt (max 45 minutes). For those less mobile or with younger children there will be plenty of room for respite at the art workshop station, or in the café and the great news – there are toilets on site!
