Developing Nitten and the Masterplan

Shaping our town centre: balancing housing, heritage, sustainability, services and commercial opportunities, the NCC is determined the community will be a strong partner in the development of the village.

Newtongrange stands to benefit from council and railway investment, and Midlothian Council has consulted, fed back (and latterly managed to change development consultants) to arrive at and present a preliminary plan for the centre of our village to stakeholders (Newtongrange Partnership Group) in January. The NCC is seeking people who want to be part of that process through the Community Council, perhaps with a small working group or even just to remain informed on our actions, and is discussing how to shape our village development as a core Community Council aim.

I'm involved with the Newtongrange Community Council because I want to preserve our status as a proud village and ensure residents have a say in local development
